The trunk is pale grey or whitish, rather smooth, and has large grey, brown, or orange patches, often accompanied by horizontal markings. During the flowering season, which lasts from September to April, the tree produces sweetly scented blooms reminiscent of fresh coconut, filling the air with a delightful fragrance. Various bird species are attracted to the tree to feed on its red fleshy fruits, which ripen from December to June.
The White pear prefers well-drained, compost-rich soil. It is adaptable to both full sun and semi-shade conditions, making it versatile for different garden settings.
